This structure adds the above-listed research related slots to the capabilities of a starbase. As with all POS structures, it must be placed near an operating control tower.
As mentioned above, research at an Advanced Mobile Laboratory is faster than at NPC owned stations.
The primary motive for choosing an Advanced Mobile Laboratory over the standard Mobile Laboratory is in the copying of blueprints. Blueprint copying is faster with this structure than at a Mobile Laboratory, but ME and invention speeds are comparable.
