Command ships are engineered specifically to wreak havoc on a battlefield of many. Sporting advanced command module interfaces, these vessels are more than capable of turning the tide in large engagements. Field command ships are geared more towards out-and-out combat than their fleet command counterparts, though both ships can hold their own in battle.

Developer: Kaalakiota

As befits one of the largest weapons manufacturers in the known world, Kaalakiota's ships are very combat focused. Favoring the traditional Caldari combat strategy, they are designed around a substantial number of weapons systems, especially missile launchers. However, they have rather weak armor and structure, relying more on shields for protection.


The Nighthawk manages one of the strongest defenses of any non-capital vessel in the EVE universe. Fitting a passive tank, they are invulnerable to nearly any one non-capital ship, excepting the most powerful "gank" fitted battleships and command ships.

Example Fitting

  • High Slots: 6x Heavy Missile Launcher II
  • Mid Slots: 2x Large Shield Extender II, 1x Shield Recharger II, 2x Hardener II (Invul or Resist Specific)
  • Low Slots: 3x Shield Power Relay II, 2x Ballistic Control Unit II
  • Rigs: 2x Core Defence Field Purger I

This setup makes excellent use of the Nighthawk's amazing shield recharge time and excellent resists, giving a defense that can withstand an amazing amount of punishment. However, the amount of offensive firepower is lacking compared to most of the other command ships.

Ship Usage

The Nighthawk has undergone a distinct revamp in bonuses since the release of Revelations, making it more the bigger brother of the Cerberus than before. One of the most common setups involved with this ship is the ability to passive tank allowing for it to be immune to all Nosferatu setups. In addition, with the change to the Rate of Fire, its damage output has increased, making it a diabolical combatant in small gang warfare.
